James E. Hasser, Jr. has been practicing law since 1982. He is a graduate of Cumberland School of Law. While there he received a certificate in International Law Studies for courses attended in Heidelberg, Germany. He worked in Montgomery on the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals doing research and helping his judge write decisions. He also worked as an Assistant Attorney General in the Utilities (certified by National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners), Criminal Appeals and Prisoner Civil Rights Divisions before going into private practice.
In 1985, he went into private practice in Mobile, Alabama, working for a firm that did banking, securities and other specialized business law and litigation. He later went into a more a general practice firm doing everything from divorces to personal injury cases.
In 1987 he joined a personal injury firm where he developed his skills at personal injury and death cases over 25 years. In 2008 he formed HasserLawFirm which represents those seriously injured or killed in accidents or on the job.
He has also been a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Club, having 3 or more verdicts or settlements in excess of $1,000,000, the largest being for $7,500,000 in a car wreck death case a few years back. He has participated in several class actions against stock companies for failing to pay their stockbrokers overtime, one settling for $50 Million and the other for $39 Million.
