Attorney – Civil Litigation Department
Represented clients in litigation through trial in areas of law such as personal injury, products liability, and premises liability. Also participate as an appointed attorney in the Mobile County Probate Court Guardian Ad Litem program.
After taking a couple of years to decide what direction to take in life, Russell entered Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, MS. During his time in law school, he was active in multiple groups including PAD legal fraternity, foreign law society, Christian Legal Society, and the Public Interest group. During his three years in law school, the student body elected Russell as Treasurer and Vice President of the Student Bar Association. He graduated in May 2010.
Following graduation, Russell returned to Mobile to begin his legal career after passing the Alabama Bar in 2010. He began his legal career with Vernis & Bowling of Southern Alabama, a local defense firm focusing in civil litigation. During his employment with Vernis & Bowling, Russell undertook representation of clients and major insurance companies involving cases such as personal injury, car accidents, premises liability, products liability, and civil assault. Russell was solely responsible for the majority of this case load from the commencement of the action through trial. In addition to his defense practice, Russell also accepts appointments from Mobile County Probate Court where he represents clients, their families, or the Court as a Guardian ad Litem involving issues of mental competency and personal rights of individuals. In August of 2014, Russell came to work for Alexander Shunnarah & Associates.
In his spare time, Russell enjoys spending time with his family and friends while staying active in the community. He is currently active on the Mobile Young Lawyers Committee as the Treasurer and will be Vice-President in 2015. He volunteers time to local charities such as Habitat for Humanity and the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
